Part of the Famous American Indians series. Eggleston (1837-1902) was an American historian and novelist; Lillie was his daughter who was a writer as well. This history is written for juvenile readers. Four page Appendix at the end with the bibliographic sources used to write this history. Blue decorated boards with some soiling and edgewear, former owners' names penciled on front endpaper and back free endpaper. Tissue protected frontis-piece illustration and five other illustrations including maps of two forts. Binding sturdy, text pages clean. A clear and removable archival cover has been fitted.
