8vo - 21 x 14 cm.; viii - 428 pp. Blue/gray linen over boards with black cloth and gilt lettering on the spine and a gilt chalice symbol on the front board. Originally published as "Das Senfkorn von Lisieux" which was the eighth revised edition of "Das Verborgene Antlitz: Eine Studie Uber Therese von Lisieux" and translated into English by Richard and Clara Winston. Seven pages of notes, 3 page bibliography and a 4 page index. Mild wear to the fore corners of the boards and the spine tips, previous owner's name (a religious sisters' library) stamped on the fore edge of the text block, else a clean volume with a solid binding. The front free end paper and the frontis piece photograph of Thérèse in her Carmelite habit 3 months before she died have been neatly removed. A clear and removable archival cover has been fitted.
