8vo - 20.5 x 13.5 cm.; xi - 211 pp. Black cloth over boards with gilt lettering on the spine. First published in 1951, this is he second printing. A retelling of Tom Penney's story, the man found gulity of a brutal murder in Kentucky and then came to know God from his stay in prison and then had his execution stayed by the governor after 10 years of solitary confinement. In all 4 men were arrested for the murder and 3 were electrocuted. Previous owner's name on the front free end paper along with a smal gift card fastened on the same and also the owner's name written in ink in the head margins of both chapter 1 and 2. (Why? Don't have the slightest idea.) Minor shelf wear to the spine tips and to the fore corners of the boards, small stain on the text block tail edge. Otherwise clean with a sound binding. The unclipped dust jacket has moderate edge wear and with chipping at the corners and the spine tips.
