8vo - 21 x 13.5 cm.; (6) - 199 - (3) pp. Charcoal gray paper over boards with black and gilt lettering on a blue cloth spine. The text block head edge is stained a dark blue (tad faded now) as issued. This is the first American edition. A novel about Bart O'Shea, an Irish poet, that explores the question of whether an artist has the privilege to break any and all rules. Methinks this has some basis in fact . . . Minor wear to the spine tips of the book and a small scuff (label removal scar?) on the front free end paper. Otherwise the interior is clean and the binding is sound. The unclipped pictorial dust jacket has very minor wear to the corners and spine tips.
