Harrold writes as an Episcopalian and the purpose of this book is to understand Newman as a man, a writer and a religious thinker. He has then observed a religious neutrality on controversial issues and used more critical methods when dealing with Newman's literary methods and his achievement as a poet, a novelist, a critic and a rhetorician. Sixty-one pages of notes, a 13 page select bibliography amd a 20 page index. The book shows light wear to the spine tips, the interioris clean and the binding is sound.
