12mo - 18.5 x 12 cm.; 224 pp. Red paper over boards with black lettering on the spine and the front board along with decorative black border rules on the front board. Black and white frontis of "A Modern Bambino". These essays or 'records' had all been previously published in "The Irish Catholic" or "The Catholic Fireside". The first four chapters are about devotion to the child Jesus. The others are about specific saints and their own individuals devotions such as St. Margaret Mary to the Sacred Heart, St. Dominic and the Rosary . . . . So, there are 16 chapters of which 4 are about the child Jesus. Some chapter titles follow: I am come to cast fire on the earth, Immaculate Conception and Miraculous Medal, St. Joseph at Quimperle, Basilica of St. Agnes on the Via Nomentana in Rome, Il Sacro Speco - Cradle of the Benedictines, St. Clare of Assisi, St. Dominic and his Shrine at Bologna, St. Antony and his Shrine at Padua, St. Catherine of Siena, St. Alphonsus Liguori, St. Clement Hofbauer, St. Gerard Majella and his Shrine at Materdomini. The library markings are a number on the front free end paper and a label scar and ghost on the lower spine. The spine is faded as are the board edges and the spine tips and fore corners are lightly bumped. The interior is very clean and the binding is tight and solid.
