16mo - 16 x 10.5 cm.; ix - 267 pp. Blue linen over boards with gilt lettering on the spine and decorative gilt lettering on the front board. Purple book mark ribbon set into the head band. First published in 1902, this is the third printing of the new edition of 1905. These letters were addressed to a 12 year old boy and originally published serially in the Church Quarterly Review. Four pages of notes, 5 pages of further reading and a 3 page index. Previous owner's gift inscription on the front free end paper, otherwise clean with a solid binding. The externals show mild wear along with some crimping on the cloth on the lower spine which appears to be a binding fault.
