12mo - 18 x 12 cm.; vii - 223 pp. Part of a series put out by the Canadian Institute of International Affairs. First published in 1959, this is the soft cover re-issue. Footnotes and a 7 page index. Masters was a history professor at Bishop's University in Sherbrooke, Quebec and describes this volume as dealing with the post-Stalin period, a time when apparent relaxation of tension between East and West brought about by gestures of goodwill on the part of the Soviet leaders failed to alter the fact of continuing disagreement and suspicion. The covers show wear on the edges and the spine (rubs and small chips) while the interior is clean and the binding is tight.
