16mo - 15.5 x 9.5 cm.; 47 pp. Brown cloth over boards with gilt lettering in the front and blind stamped border rules with corner leaf motifs on the front and back boards. Beckwith was a Congregational minister from New York and presents his case that baptism by immersion is not rigidly scriptural and baptism by sprinkling is vaild. The board corners are worn (rubbed with bumps) as are the spine tips. The spine/board joints are rubbed also. Scattered and minor foxing present on the margins of some pages. Attachment remains on the front paste down end paper from a previous book plate (?). The binding is solid and a clear and removable archival cover has been fitted.
