Sclater was the resident pastor at Old St. Andrew's Church (Presbyterian) in Toronto, Ontario at the time of writing. The eight lectures are "The Order of Worship", "Public Prayer", "The Spoken Word", "The Preparation of a Sermon", "The Teaching Methods of Our Lord", "The Sacrament", "The Celebration", and "The Guidance of the Wise". Previous owner';s name and dated gift note on the front free end paper. The book shows only mild wear to the corners and spine tips, otherwise clean with a solid binding.
