One of the Riberside Literature Series. After the 15 page introduction by Ada L. F. Snell, Bryce's work is in two parts; "Indolence" and "How to Overcome the Obstacles". From the contents page: "The two essays by Mr. James Bryce included in this volume are reprinted with permission of Yale University from Mr. Bryce's lectures on the Dodge Foundation, published in book form by the Yale University Press under the title The Hindrances to Good Citizienship". Previous owner's name neatly on the front free end paper otherwise a clean interior with a solid binding while the externals show mild shelf wear with a wee bit of spotting or soiling in the lower front fore corner area.
