8vo - 22 x 14 cm.; xxxviii - 617 - (3) pp. Brown cloth over bevelled boards with gil tlettering on the spine and a blind stamped decorative motif centered on both the front and back boards. The library in question, there are two, is that of John Eadie with "Eadie Library" in gilt on the spine. Bookplate on the front paste down end paper from the United Presbyterian College, the second library, which purchased Eadie's library upon his death. Withdrawal stamp from Galsgow University Library overstamped on the same bookplate. Moderate wear to the spine tips, minor wear to the board corners, the front end paper hinge is beginning to show some signs of tearing, otherwise the binding is quite solid. The text block head edge is quite darkened and there is very occasional foxing present mostly on the interior sides of the free end papers. Some pages remain uncut on the head edges.
