4to - 26 x 25.5 cm.; 335 - (1) pp. Off white coarse linen over boards with black lettering on the spine. Illustrated with a phenomenal number of archival black and white photographs with text in Polish. At the back, there is a 7 page English summary, followed by a 7 page French summary, then an 8 page German summary and then a 7 page summary in Russian. The summaries include translations of the picture captions. How a nation, any nation; a people, any people; how any one person could survive such destruction born of hate moves me in the core of my being. I think of John Paul II saying "No more war". The book has some very minor wear to the externals and due to the weright of the text block, it sags a bit in the case work or binding. The dust jacket is worn on the head edge with small chips and closed tears.
