Jonathan Swift said this in describing his role as a clergyman of the Church of Ireland: "I look upon myself, in the capacity of a clergyman, to be one appointed by providence for defending a post assigned to me, and for gaining over as many enemies as I can". Ten page general index at the back. The book shows mild shelf wear with lightly rubbed board corners and spine tips. The head and fore edges of the text block are trimmed while the tail edge is not, all as issued. The interior is clean and the binding is tight.
