"With an introductory letter to the Rt. Hon. W. E. Gladstone, M.P.". Roundell Palmer (1812-1895), the 1st Earl of Selborne served as the Lord Chancellor of Great Britain under Gladstone though parted ways with Gladstone over the question of Irish Home Rule. Nine page general index at the back followed by 4 pages of publisher's adverts. The interior is clean with a tight binding while the externals show only mild shelf wear with some light soiling on the boards and the spine is tad darkened.
