8vo - 21 x 13.5 cm.; xxxiii - 251 pp. The text is in Latin. Simple gray wrappers with black lettering on the spine and the front with a matching dust jacket where the author's name and book title are in red lettering on the front of the jacket. The introductory text on the flaps of the dust jacket is in English, French, German and Italian. From that same introductory note: "Chancellor of the University of Paris at the time of the Great Western Schism, Gerson is well known for the zeal he showed in restoring the unity of the Church . . . he strove thoughout his life to restore the primacy of real theology . . . such was the genesis of . . . the De Mystica Theologia . . ." This critical edition gives all important variants as documented in the 67 surviving manuscripts. Gerson lived from 1363 to 1429. The book shows a whisper of wear to the spine tips and corners of the covers while the dust jacket shows mild wear in the same places and the spine is a tad darkened or sunned.
