8vo - 21.5 x 14 cm.; xiv - 156 pp. Blue cloth over boards with gilt lettering on the spine. Fr. O'Brien was a member of the Society of St. John the Evangelist, an Anglican religious community in Cowley, a suburb of Oxford and founded in 1865 by Rev, R. M. Benson. He served in various functions with that society and was known for his kind manner, his gentle wisdom and a full prayer life. Twenty six of his letters are included along with one address; On Authority in Religious Life. The book shows some mild shelf wear to the spine tips, otherwise it is clean and tight.
