Marlyn, 1912-2005, was born in Hungary and emigrated with his parents to Canada as an infant. This was his first novel and dealt with immigrant life in Winnipeg during the Great Depression. Signed and dated, Jan 1958, by the author on the front free end paper with a personalized inscription to Marta Wassermann. The green cloth is faded to a light beige on the spine and the head margins of both front and back boards. Otherwise the book is clean and tight and a clear and removable archival cover has been fitted.; Signed by Author
