8vo - 23.5 x 15 cm.; [2] - 403 - [3] pp. Dark blue cloth with red lettering on spine and front. The text block head edge is stained red as issued though somewhat faded now. One of the limited edition of 1675 copies designed by Armitage. Signed and inscribed by Armitage on the back free end paper as follows: "For Frances - the north, east, west & south wind - bless her vitality! From her admiring friend. Merle Armitage 1973". The spine is very faded with the lettering on it being barely readable. The boards themselves show milder fading to the edges / margins and the lettering on the front is very good. The back end paper hinge is torn exposing the mull cloth. The front end paper hinge is starting with a small tear of 4 cm at the foot. Previous owner's name (Frances L. Rich, Wash. DC. 1944) written and blind stamped on the front free end paper. The text block itself is sound and the interior is very clean.; Signed by Author
