The Seraph of Assisium.

By: Joslin, Rev. Titus

Price: $40.00

Quantity: 1 available

Book Condition: Fair

16mo - 15 x 9 cm.; 120 pp. Green cloth with gilt lettering on spine. (The life of St. Francis has always inspired great devotion and words of intense praise. 'Tis so with this small work by Rev. Joslin.) It is stated by one library holding a copy of this book that 2 un-numbered pages (one leaf) as preliminaries are the series prospectus for this publisher with 4 other pages (2 leaves) at the back describing other publications from O'Shea. None of these pages are present in this volume though there is evidence that they were present at one time. The front free end paper has also been removed. Aside from this defect the rest of the text block is present as issued. The boards are quite worn on the edges, corners and spine tips being rubbed through the cloth on the corners and part of the tail edges. The spine tips are worn down to the text block and the spine lettering and decorative gilding is quite faded though still readable. The interior is quite clean with no foxing of any note. Six or so pages show light and small soiling which does not significantly affect any text. The binding is a tad shaken though still solid. All-in-all, a still quite desireable copy of what has become an increasingly difficult book to locate.
