4to - 29.5 x 21 cm.; 214 - [2] pp. Glossy pictorial / photographic paper over boards. No dust jacket as issued. Published on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Diocese of Hamilton. The Diocese of Hamilton was separated from the Diocese of Toronto in 1856 and upon its formation it included Manitoulin Island, Sault Ste. Marie, and the northern areas of Ontario as far west as the boundaries of the Diocese of St. Boniface in Manitoba. A profusely illustrated book with short biographies of the bishops, followed by a town by town chronicling of the history along with the Missions sponsored by the diocese, a listing and description of the various religious orders, and the catholic organizations, both lay and religious, in the diocese including the school boards. A brief one page bibliography at the back. The board edges show a whisper of shelf wear, 'tis all.
