12mo - 19.5 x 14 cm.; xv - 182 pp. Blue cloth over boards with gilt lettering on spine and front board. A first edition and first printing from December of 1947. Foreword by A. H. O'Brien and a postscript by Lorne Pierce. Two page bibliography at the back. Illustrated with eight photographic plates including the frontispiece printed on a coated paper stock. The book shows very mild shelf wear to the board edges and the text block edges are age darkened, more so the head edge. The dust jacket is lightly soiled with small chips on the head edge and larger a chip (pea-sized) on the tail edge at the spine. The interior is very clean and the binding is solid.
