4to - 25.5 x 14 cm.; Unpaginated with 36 pages. One single sewn signature with light green end papers. Light grey linen over boards with a textured green cloth (imitation leather) on spine. Green lettering (title only) on front board. Tipped in coloured frontis photo of the shadow of a man reaching for his baggage - a hobo's stick and cloth bag or sack tied onto the end. One page of text with an 'explanation' of the photos that follow. 42 photographs in all with 12 in colour. The first six colour photos are on the rectos with digressions in b/w on the facing versos and the last six colour photos are on the versos with the b/w digrerssion on the facing recto so that each set forms a scene to be observed. The change (details - theme to theme - details) occurs at the centre of the one gathering where both pages have b/w images and the music/tempo changes (leaps actually) as the observer moves into the second half. Amazing that so much baggage was hidden in that hobo's sack! The linen cloth shows a hint of soiling and the back free end paper is mildly crimped on the lower half. Printed in an edition of 1000 copies on a high quality woven stock. Quite an intriguing little book. Poetry of images? - imaginary poetry perhaps. A clear and removable archival cover has been fitted.
