Written for Catholic children, well researched with lively language. Father Claver, a Jesuit, devoted his life to caring for slaves in seventeenth century Colombia. Roos was one of the pioneers in the development of the Girl Scout international program in the US, a writer for children who had a particular interest in interracial justice. The dust jacket is worn on the edges with two closed tears on the front at the spine and the fore edge fold.
