12mo - 18.5 x 11.5 cm.;  - 276 -  pp. Original cloth with gilt lettering and decorations on spine (both faded) and blind stamped decorative borders and a publisher's monogram (FLJr.) centered on both front and back boards. The collected public correspondence between the Roman Catholic bishop of Charleston, Rev. John England, and the Rev. Richard Fuller, a protestant cleric from Beaufort of South Carolina. With the exception of darkened edges, the text block itself is near fine. The boards are faded on the margins and spine and worn at the spine crown and tail. A clear and removable archival cover has been fitted. Some very minor foxing is present and that is confined to the first three blank preliminary pages and the front free end paper.
