8vo - 23 x 15 cm.; vii - [2] - 374 pp. Red cloth with gilt lettering on spine. Two page foreword by Malcolm Muggeridge. A Canadian intellectual (Calgary born) recounts his younger Marxist days, his service in the government as an assistant to Mackenzie King and his leaving public life to pursue teaching first in Winnipeg and later at the University of Birmingham in the UK all the while coming to grips with the fact that the Marxian dialectic did not fit the facts. Both book and dust jacket show mild shelf wear while the spine of the jacket is also faded. Otherwise very clean with the appearances of having never been used.
