8vo - 21.5 x 14 cm.; viii - 184 pp. red cloth over boards with gilt lettering on a blue spine panel. Illustrated with 13 black and white plates one of which is the frontis. The remaining 12 plates are printed on both sides of a coated paper. Beau Nash was a one-time Master of Ceremonies at the spa in Bath and concurrently at the more provincial resort located in Tunbridge Wells. Beau Nash has been called by some the most picturesque dandy of the age. Connely writes from the viewpoint of one who is very familiar with Bath and the enourage of those who went there "to take the cure". The board edges show minor shelf wear and the text blocjk edges are darkened. the interior is clean and the binding is solid. The dust jacket shows moderate wear and soiling with a closed tear on the tail edge of the front panel.
