8vo - 20 x 14 cm.; 153 pp. Approbations present. Preface by Most Reverend J. C. McGuigan, Archbishop of Toronto. A loving biography of William Daly (1839-1911) and his wife, Josephine Morin. William was a bank manager for many years at the City and District Savings Bank of Montreal. As Father Daly states in his introduction: "The beauty and strength of the militant Church lie is the beauty and strength of the Christian family. The family is what the Christian parents make it." This is his tribute to one such family; he wrote this to encourage other families. Some b/w photos. Daly has inscribed this copy on the half-title page: "As a token of gratitude for the hospitality so kindly offered to a weary traveller who drop(p)ed from a blustery sky. The Author". Blue cloth-covered boards with gilt spine lettering. Light wear and soiling on boards, missing front free endpaper.; Signed by Author
