8vo - 20.5 x 14 cm.; 144 pp. Orange wraps with black lettering over a flat stapled binding. "Authoritative reports by qualified observers who have returned from the war zones as presented over the CBC National Network". In other words - transcripts of war time broadcasts by various journalists etc. Contributors are: Rt. Hon. Malcolm MacDonald, Davidson Dunton, William L. Shirer, Ralph Ingersoll, Col. W. J. Donovan, Brig. Maurice Pope, R. T. Bowman, John Bird, J. M. Minifie, Milo J. Warner, Rev. John Sutherland Bonnell, Helen Heitt, Joseph C. Harsch, L. B. Pearson, Saville R. Davis, Elisabeth Dinsdale, Betty Wason, Albert E. Altherr, Humphrey Cobb, Diana Forbes-Robertson, and Arthur Beverley Baxter. Each piece is led into with a small b/w vignette head piece drawing of the author. The externals show light to very moderate wear and soiling with a neatly inked "Book No. 1" on the spine. Interesting to note that this particular series on CBC (We Have Been There) solicited a phenomenal reader response, mostly from Canadians but a substantial number from American listeners to the south.
