Piccolomini is more commonly known as Pope Pius II and was vicar of the church from 1458 to 1464. Aside from his early life, a large part of which was spent indulging his passions, he is known for his attempts to free Europe from Turkish domination. Library markings consist of ownership stamps on the text block edges, ownership stamp and date due slip on the front free end paper, and a bar code sticker on front paste down. Otherwise the binding is tight and the interior text is very clean with minimal wear to the externals.
