An extensive introduction by Owen and illustrated with black and white photographs taken by Cotton. Cotton (1858-1942) farmed first in Ontario, then moved to Treherne, Manitoba where he became known as " Wheat King" because of the size and quality of his crops. Later he moved to the Swan River Valley. "This volume . . . provides an intimate glimpse into the world of the rural prairies before WWI." The dust jacket edge wear and scuffing with creasing and small tears at the spine head.
