8vo - 21 x 14 cm.; 115 - (37) pp. Dark green cloth with black 'banding' and gilt lettering on front. This volume contains 2 works by Nobile printed by 2 different printers and then bound into the one volume. The first (a series of Italian and French poems) translated into prose English (2 by Victor Hugo) and the second is a lecture on the history of Italy plus an address by Nobile entitled "Manzoni and Rattazzi". The extremities show very mild wear, the text pages are age toned - more so the paper used by the Toronto printer. Page 13/14 has a 4" closed tear near the hinge margin that has been rather crudely repaired in the past with no text loss. There is a scattering of small engravings (vignette style) through out the book, some at chapter beginnings, some at the ends and some just where they would look good. Rather well done engravings though small. A clear and removable archival cover has been fitted.
