4to - 28 x 21 cm.; 85 pp. Black wraps with beige illustration and lettering on front in a saddle stapled binding. The paper is an off-white heavy newsprint type that is yellowed on the edges and margins. Library is a religious community with usual library markings plus pocket removal remnants on verso of last page. Illustrated with b/w photographs. A somewhat scholarly look at the Church of the True Inspiration (a movement founded in 1700) and the rise of the German Amana communities of the US. The decline is documented starting with the loss of charismatic leadership in the early 1930's. A fascinating look at one of the more radical religious communitarian movements.
