Spine is faded, front and back boards are spotted and stained mostly on lower halves. 2" tear in spine gutter on front at top. Front hinge is a bit loose otherwise the binding is quite tight. Corners are bumped and worn. Text edges are browned with some foxing throughout the volume. Illustrated with full page glossy plates each with protective tissue. Some staining on tissue overlays but does not appear to be foxing. Some dampstain on first few pages at top on spine side. This particular volume was not directly authored by Barnes, but rather was prepared under his direction by J. J. Woodward.
