Sinclair, Upton The Flivver King Emaus, Pennsylvania Rodale Press 1937 First Thus Hard Cover Good in Fair dust jacket 8" x 5.5"; 256 pp. Red cloth with gold lettering on spine and front board. Not one of the great American novels but nonetheless, one that speaks of the times and culture of the continually emerging industrial giant whose birth was heralded by a tea party. Printed privately at first and then in a sponsored edition by the UAW, Rodale saw fit to put out their own edition also. Interesting that the premiere wholistic back-to-the-land corporation used it to promote an, at-heart, stand that encompassed both Luddite beliefs and wage slaves concerns. The land of the free is not necessarliy the land of the clear thinkers. Oh yes, the condition. Moderate wear to the book with a previous owner's name on the ffep. The DJ is close to being ratty but even a ratty one is scarce. Hmm - just read all this and me mom said there would be days like this. Que-sera-sera. We have overcome! Price: 49.50 USD
