All text block edges are gilt. Front end paper hinge is starting with a small tear in the reinforcing cloth of the interior hinge, many tissue protectors have been replaced. Partial page of corrigenda (corrections) at the back, 16 in number. The dictionary text is printed 2 colums per page. Some rather nice blind stampings on the corners and centered on both front and back boards. The spine has been repaired professionally with a linen backing visible at the crown. The spine leather itself is rubbed and faded though quite readable. Board corners are rubbed and worn. The text block is mildly shaken with one of the signatures in the centre of the block sitting proud though 'tis not loose. All text block edges are gilt and still quite bright. Previous owner's gift inscription (dated 1877) on the verso of the front free end paper. A clear and removable archival cover has been fitted. 7605

A treatise using examples of legislation, historical occurrences, statistics, extracts from speeches and letters all designed to give weight to the cause of Irish Nationalism as put forth by the National Land League. Both front and back hinges are starting, usual library markings present with the addition of a black cloth tape being affixed, by way of a previous repair, to the externals in the manner of a half bound binding. It would appear that new end papers were inserted at the same time. The interior is quite clean with some age toning to the free page margins and the text block is sound.; Ex-Library 14261
