No date of publication or edition statement is given though known to be first published in 1914 while no additional printings are noted. Illustrated with black and white photographs from life and reproductions (92) and black and white drawings (11) by the author. The 92 photographs and reproductions are printed on a coated papsr, the 11 drawings are printed on the standard text paper. All are present and in fine condition. Three page index at the back. Previous owner's name on the front free end paper, otherwise very clean with a tight binding. Very occasional foxing of a mild sort to the text is present. Several pages remain unopened on the fore edges. The externals show quite mild wear and with two spots of soiling on the front board and some surface foxing on the text block head edge. All in all, a quite handsome volume. A clear and removable archival cover has been fitted. 26784

The casing is quite distressed (heavy wear on corners and spines, one backstrip being torn) with the text blocks being very sound and still supple. Preliminaries in all are moderately foxed with light foxing present throughout the rest of the texts. All volumes show light, sparse, and neatly done pencil notations. Previous owner's names and stamps on the front end papers, with two stamps being from libraries in Paris but no further library markings are present. Text block edges are dyed green with a few signatures sitting a bit proud though quite sound. 12135

Black cloth over thin and flexible boards with gilt decoration and lettering on the front and spine, comes in a fitted box that has a paste-down label with information about the book. The book spine is faded with mild edgewear to the boards. The text is clean and the binding is solid. The fitted box is quite worn and in a poor condition. 21271
