Six page analytical index at the back along with a 15 page appendix on the origin and meaning of indulgences. Library markings are a stamp on the front free end paper, a pocket on the back free end paper and tape stains on the tail margins of the paste down end papers. No external markings on the book. The unclipped dust jacket has a faint sticker ghost on the lower spine. There is marginalia on 4 pages (11, 12, 13 and 14) in the form of underlining and marginal lines with a written note on the head margin of page12. Otherwise the book is clean and tight. Both book and jacket show only mild wear to the externals with the tail edges of the boards being faded or sunned. 24918

St. Thomas died before he finished this book and his title for it was The Compendium of Theology. This edition is based on the translation by Fr. Cyril Vollert done in 1947. Scripture references are cited as to their edition of origin though the Douay Rhiems translation is used most frequently. The translator's preface from 1947 is included. There are 246 topic entires with 10 more specifically dealing with hope. Previous owner's name on the front free end paper. Both book and jacket show a whisper of shelf wear, otherwise the book appears to have never been used. 22923

In terms of the alphabetical entries, Volume 1 (pages 3 to 382) covers "Abraham" to "Hour", Volume 2 (pages 385 to 792) covers "Humility" to "Righteousness (Justice)" and Volume 3 (pages 797 to 1011) and covers "Sabbath" to "Wrath".
